Larry Harris began his ministry at Pioneer Bible Church on August 26, 1986.
A native of Niagara Falls, New York, Larry served five years in the Nuclear Submarine Branch of the U.S. Navy. After his discharge from the Navy in June 1977, he enrolled in the Appalachian Bible College in Bradley, West Virginia where he graduated with high honors in May 1981 with a bachelor's degree in Bible-Theology. From there he went to Salina, Kansas to serve as Associate Pastor of the Salina Bible Church from August 1981, until he accepted his present position at Pioneer Bible Church.
Larry is the Chaplain Coordinator for the Ponca City Police Department Chaplain Program and also serves on the Kay County Community Crisis Response Team. He is the first Chaplain to attend and graduate from the CLEET Law Enforcement Academy in Ada, OK.
He holds membership in IFCA International, Inc. and International Conference of Police Chaplains. He was ordained on June 20, 1982. He has also completed 30 hours of graduate school classes from Southeastern Bible College Graduate School and Dallas Theological Seminary.
Larry and his wife, Diane, have three daughters - Jennifer Villegas living in Jersey City, NJ with her husband Ping J; Laura Ho living in Edmond, OK with her husband Ryan, and Melanie Childers, living in Edmond, OK with her husband Tony.
